At Name Of Fortune (https://nameoffortune.com/), we take privacy seriously. This policy explains what we collect, what we don't, and your rights.

1. What We Don't Collect (The Important Part)

When you use our Wheel of Names, the names you enter (e.g., "Ali, Beatriz, Charles") never leave your browser. They exist only in JavaScript memory (state.players array). We have no server that receives your list. No database. When you refresh, it's gone. We designed it this way so teachers can use it with student names without worrying about FERPA or GDPR.

2. What We Do Collect (Anonymous, Aggregated)

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (privacy-first, no cookies) to count: total page views, total spins, country (anonymized), and device type (mobile/desktop). We do NOT see your names, your IP in identifiable form, or your personal data. This helps us know if the site is up and if we need to optimize for mobile.

3. Cookies and Google AdSense (Required Disclosure)

We use Google AdSense to show ads and keep the site free. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on https://nameoffortune.com/.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Specifically:

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you will see a consent banner for personalized ads (required by Google). You can choose non-personalized ads, which use cookies but not for personalization.

4. Contact Form Data

When you submit our contact form, we receive your name, email, and message via FormSubmit.co, which forwards to stylesstrong@gmail.com. We use this only to reply to you. We don't sell it, we don't add you to a newsletter (we don't have one). We delete messages after 90 days unless you ask us to keep them for a feature request.

5. LocalStorage

We use localStorage for two things only: stb_theme (your light/dark preference) and stb_global_count (total spins count, just a number). No names are stored in localStorage unless you opt into a future save feature (currently not implemented).

6. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA)

Since we don't collect personal data from the wheel, there is little to request. But you have rights: right to access, deletion, and opt-out of personalized ads. To exercise: use Google's opt-out links above for ads, and use the Contact page to ask us to delete any message you sent. We respond within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Our site is usable by children under teacher supervision, but we don't knowingly collect data from children. Names entered by teachers are not collected by us. If you are a parent and have concerns, contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We will update this page if we change analytics or add features like optional saving. We will change the "Last updated" date. For major changes, we will add a notice on the homepage for 7 days.
